Help us ensure heritage activities are addressed locally

An Expression of Interest (EOI) is open to assist the Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation to establish a Local Area Cultural Heritage Service.

The Aboriginal Heritage Act 2021 was launched 1 July 2023, and the Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation will be establishing a Local Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Service (LACHS) to administer the Act in the Whadjuk region.

While the State will have a hand in the development of the LACHS, it is imperative that culturally appropriate structures are embedded in the Whadjuk Corporation, and that the corporate governance from inception is culturally appropriate and authoritative. Input from the Elders and the Knowledge Holders will be key to decision making and internal compliance within cultural framework.

The Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation are seeking the information of service providers that may be able to support the Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation to build their capability and capacity to ensure the heritage activities are being addressed at the local area.

For more information including how to apply, download the EOI document.

The EOI closes 5pm Monday, 24 July 2023.
