WAC Acknowledges the Contribution of Wayne Ryder
Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation has formally acknowledged the resignation of Wayne Ryder as a Member Director, following the Board's consideration of the resulting vacancy at its September Board meeting held in October.
Wayne's resignation took effect on 18 September 2026, after he made the decision to step away from the Board and explore opportunities for full-time employment where he could continue building on and applying his skills, knowledge and experience.
During his time as a Member Director, Wayne contributed significant knowledge of Whadjuk community, culture and heritage and supported the Corporation through an important period of change and rebuilding.
WAC Chairperson Charne Hayden thanked Wayne for his contribution.
“Wayne brought valuable cultural, community and heritage knowledge to the Board and has been part of WAC during an important period for the Corporation. We thank him for his contribution as a Director and wish him well as he moves into the next stage of his professional journey.”
Chief Executive Officer Dominic Panaia also acknowledged Wayne's service.
“Wayne has considerable knowledge and experience, particularly within the community space. His decision to step away from the Board gives him the opportunity to focus on full-time employment and continue developing and applying those skills.
“It is important that our people have opportunities to build careers, develop professionally and use their cultural and professional knowledge to create strong outcomes for Whadjuk people.”
Following Wayne's resignation, the Board has now filled the resulting Member Director casual vacancy in accordance with WAC's governance processes.
WAC thanks Wayne for his service as a Member Director and wishes him every success in the next chapter of his career.
