Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation Rule Book – September 2026
Updated Rule Book
Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation advises members that the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC) has made changes to the Corporation's Rule Book.
The Registrar-initiated changes took effect on 15 September 2026.
The changes are intended to improve the clarity, consistency and workability of the Corporation's governance rules and address a number of issues relating to Director eligibility, appointment and vacancies.
Among the changes are amendments that:
clarify the maximum number and composition of Directors;
improve transparency in the Director eligibility and selection process;
distinguish mandatory Director eligibility requirements from qualifications and attributes that are desirable for candidates;
clarify when the appointment of a Member Director filling a casual vacancy takes effect; and
improve the process for filling Member Director casual vacancies.
ORIC has provided a detailed Summary of Changes, which explains each amendment and the reasons for the change. Members are encouraged to read the Summary together with the updated Rule Book.
The updated Rule Book is effective from 15 September 2026 and is now the governing Rule Book of Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation.
WAC is publishing the updated Rule Book and ORIC's supporting documentation, so members have direct access to the Corporation's current governance rules.
